Anti-TBR Tag
I am always about reading tons of books. I spend a lot of time creating my TBRs and am always looking at new books to read. But, sometimes there are books that I just don’t want to read. Or an author that just isn’t vibing with me. This tag was originally created by Nicole & Her Books. I had so much fun thinking about these questions.
Just a quick disclaimer, just because a book/author is on this list, does not mean I will never read them I tend to have a pretty open mind when it comes to literature, so I'm not closing the door on these titles. And if you like any of these books/authors, great! I am not here to judge what you read. If you like something, read it and enjoy it. There is no judgement from me here. I’m actually very happy you enjoy these books/authors. These are just my opinions.

What is a popular book everyone loves that you have no interest in reading?
I have heard really amazing things about this book, and I know it’s so beloved on booktube and Instagram, but I just have no interest in it.. The plot doesn't appeal to me, the characters don’t sound super interesting, and overall I just can’t seem to want to pick it up.
Who/what is a classic book/author you have no interest in reading?
Other Brontë sister stories sound interesting, but Jane Eyre just doesn't;t sound like something for me. Maybe one day, but it’s surely not a priority.
Who’s a problematic author you have no interest in reading?
I have no interest in Twilight, I have no interest in her other books, and I have no interest in her. I really dislike the way she treated Native characters in Twilight, and how abusive the Edward Bella relationship is, and overall I don’t need her books in my life. The movies was a child was enough.
Who’s an author you have read a couple of books from and decided that they are not for you?
I read The Scarlet Letter in high school and really disliked it. I tried to read another book of his (to be honest I cannot even remember what it was) and almost immediately DNF’d it. He just uses too much description and not enough plot details.
What is a genre you have no interest in or a genre you tried but didn’t like?
This question was hard for me to answer because I really like trying different genres. I would say romance for my answer, but that’s a very loose answer. There are a lot of romance books I love or want to read.
What is a book you bought/borrowed but will never read?
I bought this book becasue the cover looked really cool, but then I read the description and realized I had no real interest in it. Maybe one day I’ll finally get around to it, but I bought it like, 4 years ago so I’m not holding my breath.
What is a series you have no interest in or you DNF’d?
I really, really tried with these series, but I couldn’t get into either of them. I found the Throne of Glass series boring, and Shadowhunters just not for me. I would maybe try them again, but as of now these will not be continued.
What is a new release you have no interest in reading?
Similarly to the previous question, I started this series and have no interest in continuing. I did not enjoy the first book and I don’t care what happens in the second.
