The Last 10 Books Tag

I saw this tag on @chanelletime’s blog, and I decided I wanted to do it as well. I answered most of the questions, and each answer has a little bit of a story. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Marc Nash created this tag.

  1. The Last Book You Didn’t Finish?

I tried to read this for the Polarthon, but I just couldn't get into the book. I did end up finishing the graphic novel version of this book, but even the graphic novel didn’t wow me. I just think this book was not made for me.

2. The Last Book I Reread?

I read this for the Weekend Bookclub over on Instagram. I listened to it this time around, and I felt so happy being back in this world. It got 5-stars, as it did the first time I read it.

3. The Last Book I Bought?

I got this book because one of my professors recommended it, and it sounds so up my alley. And, more excitingly, I picked this up because it was the first time I had been in a bookstore in a very long time. Shoutout to Book Passage for being so safe and welcoming!

4. The Last Book You Said You Read but Didn’t?

I did this a lot as a kid. I don’t do it now, so I cannot remember the last time I did this. But, as a kid, I would lie about reading books because I couldn’t read them. I am hugely dyslexic, but I had no idea as a first-grader, so I thought I was just incapable of reading bigger books. But now, I don’t do that. And I stopped doing that around third grade. But sometimes we have to tell a little white lie about books we’ve read.

5. The Last Book You Wrote in the Margins Of?

I like writing in the margins of mystery, thriller, and horror novels. I don’t know why; I think I like writing my prediction about what’s happening and who’s guilty. However, in this book, I wish I didn’t because I did not enjoy this book, but I feel like I can’t give it away (especially since I swore in the margins).

6. The Last Book You Had Signed?

Around this release, one of my local bookstores (shoutout to Book Soup) had this available for author personalization. It came out around my birthday, so I decided to get it personalized as a gift to myself. I get signed editions from book boxes and Barnes and Noble, but this is the last personalized signed book I got.

7. The Last Book You Lost?

I cannot think of a time I’ve lost a book. I feel oddly proud of this fact.

8. The Last Book You Had to Replace?

Okay, this is a funny story. I was reading this class for my AP Literature class in high school, and I decided to take this in the pool (with a float) and read there. I did this often, but this time something went wrong. I jumped on the float, my book, phone, and pen in hand, and the next thing I know, I’m doing a backflip into the water. Thankfully, my phone was fine. Less thankfully, the book was submerged, and it passed away. Since I was writing a paper on it, I needed a physical copy. So, I had to order a new one. This story always makes me laugh. And sorry, Ms. Morrison, for drenching your book.

9. The Last Book You Had an Argument Over?

I wouldn’t say this was a full-blown argument, but my friend and I were arguing over this series. She loves it, and I DNF’d it because I think it’s super basic (no offense). But we didn’t get vicious or anything; we eventually got tired of texting and agreed to disagree.

10. The Last Book You Couldn’t Get Ahold Of?

Okay, if you’ve been here for a long time, you know that I don’t want to read this book. However, when I first heard about this book, I wanted to read it (before I knew the synopsis). But this was before the book was popular; it was either expensive or tough to get your hands on. In hindsight, I am glad that I never spent the money to buy this book or went through the time to find it.
