This was a wild ride, wow. I was not expecting this book to do what it did, but I really enjoy the way it went. I never knew if survival stories would be something I liked, but I really had fun with this. I was sucked in immediatly, and I was rooting for our main character, Ashley, the entire time. The characters were a bit weak, but this was not a character story. This was a story of one woman, and one woman living. The setting is vivd, and the author goes to great lengths to make the setting as hopeless as it feels for the main character. There is so much here; so much hope and hoplessness, sorrow and heartbreak but also resilience. The writing was really well done. Overall, if you like shorter survival stories, you will enjoy this book.
