No Exit by Taylor Adams

I had high hopes for this book based on the premise. But, sadly, I was let down. There were so many twists and turns, and helf of them felt random and just thrown in for the sake of throwing it in. The characters felt painfully one dimensional. The decisions they made felt like they were making them only to make the plot move forward. They did not seem like any decision or choice their actual character descriptions would make. The characters, especially one of the main antagonists, were predicatable. Actually, this whole book was predicatble but not in the way you would assume. I guessed everything that happened, but not in the events they unfolded. As to avoid spoilers, I will no longer continue my talk of how events unfolded, so I hope my explanation is sufficient enough. The plot, even though I do not like how it unfolded, was quite good. it was action packed and filled with tension. It is what kept me reading, and it is why I gave this a three star rating. I could not put this book down. I needed to find out what happened next in the story, and with each page I found myself becoming more and more invested. The setting added to the urgency of the book. The cold added an extra layer of danger that, coupled with the premise of this book, raised the stakes even higher. This tension coupled with the fantastic writing of the novel, I was hooked. So, while I found the characters predictable, and I did not like how the events unfolded, even though they are predicatable, I enjoyed my time with this novel.
