TW: child abuse, stalking, death

Logan is in love with Delilah. Delilah is terrified of Logan. And Delilah is tired of the men in her life controlling her every move.

The book's premise and synopsis were so promising, but oh man, was I let down. The characters were incredibly one-dimensional, the plot was somehow both rushed and too slow, and the writing was a bit cringy. Even the twists were predictable and unnecessary.

Both Delilah and Logan bored me to tears. Delilah had absolutely no personality. She went to school, got upset in her head, and then barely did anything. Besides the ending, she had no original thought. And her only emotion was being mad at the world. Her superior redeeming quality was that her dialogue was sassy. That’s it. That’s her only redeeming quality. I truly just found her insufferable, if I am honest. And Logan had only one personality trait: being obsessed with Delilah. Like, of course, he was creepy. That’s his character. But it would have been nice to see other sides of him. But there was nothing to him. I wasn’t even scared of him; I was just bored of him. And their dynamic together just felt gross. I felt let down by these characters.

The writing was lacking in this story. The exciting parts of the novel felt rushed, but the boring parts seemed to drag. I often found myself rolling my eyes at the situation and the thoughts the characters had. I was not engaged in the story at all. The author gave me pretty much nothing to care about. And the twists were cliche. There was nothing nuanced about the writing.

Read this book if you want, but it was not for me. I found it boring, annoying, and predictable. And I did not feel creeped out even a little bit. This story fell flat for me, and I was let down.
